Fun facts: I love Museums, especially the Museum of Science and Industry! And I am a Chicago sports enthusiast: Bulls, Bears, Sox, Cubs, and Blackhawks. I support ALL Chicago teams.

I am a proud alum of Lockport Township High School who placed 8th in the 200 Meter Dash State Finals in 2001. I continued running Division I track at the University of Iowa against the top sprinters in the world. My educational journey began with earning a  Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Iowa. From there, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Olivet Nazarene University, Master of Arts in School Counseling from Concordia University, and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from the American College of Education. Most recently, I was endorsement in EL from the American College of Education.

My career began as a social studies teacher and later as a counselor, SEAC advisor, SEED facilitator, and Learning Success Coach. Today, I am Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at East Campus of Lockport Township High School. As a result of my related services, I remain an active first responder and voice for children and families. Working part time as a therapist and providing mental health services at YTS, completes my mission to help others lead safe and stable lives. YTS is committed to strengthening the connection between family, school and community. The most effective approach to accomplish that goal is to provide programs and  services that promote Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills and strategies.

Team effort brings the best results in helping children, adolescents, and families make progress and reach their goals. In therapy, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered, and Solution-Focused techniques to serve my clients. My proactice supports the believe that everyone can accomplish great things through mentoring, counseling, coaching, and mental health intervention support. Collaborations with stakeholders on how to best serve the needs of all students are vital to staying current on trends and best practices.
